About Digic Pictures
Founded in Budapest in 2002, Digic Pictures is a high-end 3D animation and visual-effects studio known for photorealistic game cinematics, trailers and long-form animated storytelling. The company began as a CG team created within Black Hole Entertainment for Armies of Exigo, then gained wider international attention through its E3 cinematic trailer work for Assassin’s Creed II in 2008.
Its game-focused work spans pre-rendered and real-time AAA cinematics, announcement trailers, in-game sequences and marketing assets. Supported credits include work across the Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Destiny, The Witcher, Final Fantasy and League of Legends franchises, as well as cinematics for Star Wars Outlaws, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Unknown 9: Awakening.
Production capabilities
Digic provides end-to-end CGI production, covering pre-production, art direction, asset creation, character animation, lighting, rendering and compositing. Its specialist capabilities include:
- Photorealistic character modelling, grooming and creature work
- Full-body performance capture and stunt choreography
- 3D and 4D facial and body photogrammetry scanning
- Cloth, hair, particle and fluid simulation
- Cinematic lighting, rendering and compositing
- Real-time engine integration using Unreal Engine, Maya and Houdini pipelines
The studio also develops long-form work through DIGIC Animation and DIGIC Productions. Its narrative credits include “The Secret War,” an episode of Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots, and four anthology episodes of Amazon Prime Video’s Secret Level. Digic is also identified as the principal animation production studio for Netflix’s upcoming Magic: The Gathering animated series.
Ownership and operations
Digic Pictures operates as an active subsidiary of Saber Interactive. Digic Holdings, including Digic Pictures and Digic Services, was acquired by Embracer Group in 2021; following Saber Interactive’s 2024 sale to Beacon Interactive, Digic remained within Saber’s business. The company serves video-game publishers, film and streaming productions, and advertising clients through animation, visual effects, motion-capture and scanning services.
