About Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. is an American interactive-entertainment publisher and multinational holding company established in September 1993. It develops, publishes and distributes games for console, PC, mobile and cloud-streaming platforms, combining premium releases with digital distribution, virtual currency, expansions and subscription-based recurrent consumer spending.

Its operating structure centres on three major labels: Rockstar Games, 2K and Zynga. Rockstar is associated with the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises; 2K publishes sports, narrative and strategy titles including NBA 2K, WWE 2K, Borderlands, BioShock, Sid Meier’s Civilization and Mafia; and Zynga contributes a substantial casual and free-to-play mobile portfolio, including Words With Friends, FarmVille, CSR Racing, Toon Blast and Rollic titles.

Publishing and development capabilities

The company’s activities span game publishing, direct-to-consumer digital distribution, full-cycle game engineering and design, motion capture, art production, localization, quality assurance and player support. Its corporate organization also supports shared technology, information-security, cloud, data-engineering, advertising-infrastructure and marketing-analytics functions across its labels.

Take-Two operates a decentralized creative-development model alongside centralized capital allocation, corporate development, legal, investor-relations and technology functions. This structure supports a global portfolio spanning AAA console and PC games, live-service experiences, annualized sports franchises and mobile free-to-play products.

Portfolio and reach

The company serves the global interactive-entertainment market across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. Its portfolio includes long-running franchises such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, NBA 2K, Borderlands, BioShock, Civilization, WWE 2K, Mafia, XCOM, Words With Friends and FarmVille, as well as forthcoming work including Judas from Ghost Story Games.

Take-Two is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker TTWO. It remains an active independent public corporation, with corporate operations and shared services supporting its network of publishing labels and development studios.
