About Singing Frog Studio
Singing Frog Studio is a Canadian animation and immersive-media production studio established in Montreal in 2008. Its work spans end-to-end 2D and 3D computer animation, stereoscopic 3D production, and experiences designed for emerging exhibition formats. The studio serves feature films, television and streaming series, children’s and family entertainment, and location-based immersive projects.
Its production capabilities cover the full animation process, from artistic direction, visual research, concept art, storyboarding, and animatics through character and environment design, modeling, surfacing, texturing, grooming, rigging, layout, animation, effects, lighting, rendering, and compositing. The studio also supports 2D pipelines, including design, rigging, scene planning, animation, visual effects, and compositing.
Technology and immersive production
Alongside established animation workflows, Singing Frog Studio works with real-time pipelines using Unreal Engine and Unity for lighting, technical art, and visual effects. Its technical work also includes procedural effects and dynamic simulations in Houdini, digital matte painting, 3D previsualization, and stereoscopic finishing.
The studio has expanded its work beyond conventional theatrical animation with 5D virtual-reality experiences and ScreenX multi-projection cinema production. It also offers production-support services such as tax-credit budgeting, technical pipeline consulting, and digital imagery for derivative consumer products.
Selected work
Singing Frog Studio’s credits include Snowtime! (La Guerre des Tuques 3D), Racetime (La Course des Tuques), The Legend of Sarila, Snowsnaps, Butterfly Tale, Butterfly Academy, Elli and Her Monster Team, My Life Me, and La Course des Tuques VR 5D. Its work on stereoscopic animation and family-oriented productions has helped establish a catalogue that crosses feature-film, television, and immersive-entertainment formats.
