About Rouge Studios
Rouge Studios is an independent Los Angeles cinematic co-development partner, virtual production facility, and full-performance capture studio serving games, film, television, AR/VR and defense-simulation work. Formerly operating as Rouge MoCap, the company expanded and rebranded in 2026 to reflect a broader production pipeline spanning physical performance through engine-ready cinematic delivery.
The studio supports AAA developers and entertainment producers with performance capture direction, stunt coordination, previsualization, cinematic layout, character and asset scanning, animation cleanup, facial polish, voice-over and ADR recording, and in-engine lighting and visual-effects integration. Its artists and technical directors work in Unreal Engine and Unity to help connect live performance with finished real-time sequences.
Capture, scanning and post-production
Rouge Studios combines stage-based and mobile capture with digital-asset production and post-processing. Its production capabilities include:
- Full-performance motion capture, including body, finger and facial capture
- Optical tracking cleanup, character-solve retargeting, and hand-keyed animation in Maya and MotionBuilder
- Cross-polarized photogrammetry for people, expressions, props, costumes and animals
- Cinematic camera design, real-time layout, lighting, visual effects and editorial support
- Voice-over, ADR and sound-recording services integrated with performance capture
The company’s flagship production campus includes dual performance-capture stages, a 250-camera photogrammetry booth and a dedicated ADR suite, allowing capture, scanning, animation and sound work to be developed within a connected production environment.
Entertainment and simulation work
Credits include Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Borderlands 4, The Last of Us Part II, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, The Outer Worlds 2, MindsEye, State of Decay 3, Saros, Secret Level and Love, Death & Robots Volume 4.
Beyond entertainment production, Rouge Studios applies its capture and scanning workflows through a Defense & Federal Solutions practice. This work includes digital twins of tactical assets, tactical hardware scanning and physics-based synthetic training environments intended for defense, aerospace and mission-critical simulation.
