About Miniclip

Miniclip is a global developer, publisher and distributor of mobile and digital games. Founded in March 2001 by Robert Small and Tihan Presbie, it began as a browser-based gaming portal before shifting its development and publishing focus to free-to-play mobile games across iOS and Android.

The company develops and operates multiplayer, sports, simulation, action and casual titles, combining internal production with global publishing, live operations, user acquisition, community management and player support. Its portfolio includes enduring games such as 8 Ball Pool, Agar.io, Golf Battle, Football Strike, Carrom Pool, Mini Militia, Ludo Party, Ultimate Golf, Mini Football and Triple Match 3D. Integrated studios also contribute titles including Online Soccer Manager and Pure Sniper.

Games and operations

Miniclip’s capabilities span:

  • Free-to-play mobile game development and publishing
  • Multiplayer design, live operations and in-app economy management
  • Cross-platform distribution and porting for mobile, PC, console, web and digital storefronts
  • Game analytics, performance optimisation, advertising monetisation and player support
  • Casual, midcore, social sports, puzzle, action and simulation games

The business operates internationally, with direct branches in Switzerland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy. Its Portuguese development campus is its largest engineering centre, while its corporate headquarters in Neuchâtel supports group governance and administration.

Tencent Holdings acquired a majority stake in Miniclip in February 2015. Miniclip has since expanded its group through acquisitions while retaining a mix of integrated branches and independently branded specialist studios. This model supports work across mobile, PC and console games while allowing distinct teams to maintain genre expertise.

Miniclip reports a global audience of more than 450 million monthly active users, 70 million daily active users and more than 12 billion aggregate lifetime downloads across its group portfolio. Its games are distributed worldwide through mobile storefronts, Steam and web platforms.
