About Jam City
Jam City is a mobile game developer and global publisher focused on free-to-play entertainment across casual puzzle, narrative adventure RPG and licensed-IP games. The company develops and operates titles for iOS, Android and alternative app stores, combining game development with publishing, performance marketing, user acquisition and long-term live operations.
Founded in 2010 as MindJolt, the company evolved through the SGN Games identity before rebranding as Jam City in 2016. Netmarble Corporation became its controlling shareholder through a 2015 investment. Jam City remains an active, privately held Netmarble subsidiary.
Games and franchises
Its portfolio includes enduring casual and licensed titles such as:
- Cookie Jam and Cookie Jam Blast
- Panda Pop and Genies & Gems
- Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery
- Disney Emoji Blitz, Disney Frozen Adventures and Disney Magic Match 3D
- DC Heroes & Villains
- Bingo Pop
- Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff and Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow
The studio works with entertainment properties from companies including Disney, Warner Bros., DC and 20th Century Studios. Its development work spans concept development, systems and narrative design, 2D and 3D art, animation, client/server engineering, QA, localization and ongoing content expansion.
Live game operations
Jam City supports games after launch through weekly and seasonal events, economy balancing, customer support and player-retention programs. Its publishing operation covers global distribution, creative testing, advertising monetization and multilingual compliance across consumer gaming markets in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
The company has expanded through acquisitions and studio integrations, including TinyCo, the Bingo Pop development unit, Berlin developer 231 Play and the former Disney Rainbow Star team. Its current studio network supports mobile development, art, animation, engineering, publishing and live operations across the Americas and Europe.
In 2026, Simon Sim became chief executive officer, succeeding co-founder Josh Yguado after Yguado stepped down from executive duties.
