About Elsewhere Entertainment
Elsewhere Entertainment is an internal AAA game development studio established by Activision Publishing in May 2024. Based in Warsaw, the studio is developing an original, narrative-driven franchise rather than working within Activision’s established Call of Duty production focus.
The team’s work centers on a new narrative-focused, open-world action RPG project. Its stated development scope includes deep quest structures, responsive combat, PvE multiplayer systems, and cinematic storytelling, with the debut title still unannounced as of September 2026.
Development capabilities
Elsewhere Entertainment’s reported disciplines span the full game-development process, including:
- Narrative design, story development, scriptwriting, and quest design
- Gameplay, combat, systems, and technical game design
- Character, creature, environment, and terrain art
- Gameplay and cinematic animation, including keyframe and motion-capture pipelines
- Systems architecture, networking, gameplay programming, quality assurance, and optimization
- Real-time visual effects, shaders, procedural generation, and proprietary tooling
The studio combines its Warsaw base with development resources in Malmö and California. Its teams include design, narrative, art, animation, engineering, production, cinematics, and online-development disciplines, working within Activision’s wider technical, publishing, and distribution infrastructure.
Company background
Elsewhere Entertainment was publicly unveiled by Activision on May 16, 2024 and operates as a first-party studio within Activision Publishing and Microsoft Gaming. Its Polish legal entity is Elsewhere Entertainment Sp. z o.o.
The studio was assembled with experienced game-development talent, including developers with prior experience at companies such as CD Projekt Red, Naughty Dog, Massive Entertainment, Bungie, and Ubisoft. Elsewhere Entertainment remains in active development on its first original franchise.
