Brown Bag Films

Brown Bag Films is an animation studio founded in Dublin in 1994 by Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O’Connell. The company creates animated programming for children, families, broadcasters and streaming platforms, with production capabilities spanning 2D animation, 3D CGI and real-time workflows.

The studio works across the animation pipeline, including visual development, storyboarding, modeling, rigging, layout, animation, lighting, compositing and final delivery. Its production work also encompasses picture and audio post-production, including finishing, sound design, mixing, quality control, colour grading and mastering.

Production work

Brown Bag Films has contributed to a substantial slate of preschool, children’s and family programming. Its credits include Doc McStuffins, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Octonauts, Vampirina, Peter Rabbit, Bing, Wild Kratts, Ada Twist, Scientist, Ridley Jones, Karma's World, Blue's Clues & You!, RoboGobo, The Magic School Bus: Rides Again and Henry Hugglemonster.

The company also has a history in animated short films, including the Academy Award-nominated Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty.
