About WildBrain Studios
WildBrain Studios is the Vancouver-based animation production division of Canadian media and entertainment company WildBrain Ltd. Formed in 2016 as DHX Studios through the consolidation of Studio B Productions and Nerd Corps Entertainment, the studio adopted its current name in 2019 alongside the corporate rebrand of its parent.
The studio produces premium animated episodic series, specials and feature films for global broadcasters and streaming platforms. Its work spans stylized 2D production—including digital hand-drawn and Toon Boom Harmony cut-out animation—and 3D/CGI character and environmental animation. The team supports productions from story development and animatics through visual development, design, modeling, rigging, grooming, lighting, compositing, rendering and final asset delivery.
Screen work
WildBrain Studios has contributed to children's and family entertainment across television, streaming and feature animation. Its credits include:
- The Snoopy Show, Snoopy in Space, Camp Snoopy and the Snoopy Presents specials
- Sonic Prime, Carmen Sandiego, Chip and Potato and Johnny Test
- Ninjago, Ninjago: Dragons Rising and LEGO DREAMZzz
- The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, Go, Dog. Go! and Dorg Van Dango
The studio's Peanuts work is a cornerstone partnership with Peanuts Worldwide and Apple TV+, and its forthcoming slate includes the animated feature Snoopy Unleashed and Little Santa.
Production approach
WildBrain Studios operates concurrent 2D and CG pipelines, using tools and workflows that include Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Maya, ZBrush, SideFX Houdini, SpeedTree and USD. In 2023, WildBrain acquired Toronto pre-production specialist House of Cool, integrating its creative and pre-production leadership to extend script-to-screen storyboarding and visual-design capabilities while retaining the House of Cool brand.
The Vancouver studio remains active at its Mount Pleasant facility as of September 2026. WildBrain Studios has confirmed plans to move to a right-sized Vancouver facility later in 2026 as part of its permanent hybrid-work model, while continuing its productions on schedule.
