About WeirdCo
About WeirdCo
WeirdCo is an independent tabletop game studio specializing in the design, development, and publishing of physical trading card games (TCGs). Founded in 2024 by Elliot Cook and Luohan Wei, the studio was established with a mission to prioritize face-to-face human interaction and tactile gaming experiences over digital-only retention models. The company maintains a strict, human-only creative pipeline, explicitly prohibiting the use of generative artificial intelligence in its game design, writing, or illustration processes.
Core Philosophy and Production
WeirdCo distinguishes itself through a commitment to high-quality physical production, including premium finishes such as serialized metal cards and textured foils. Its game systems are characterized by complex, competitive mechanics, such as its proprietary RAM architecture for resource management and dice-assisted tactical combat. The studio manages its own global logistics, retail allocation programs for local game stores, and a comprehensive organized play network.
Flagship Projects
The studio's debut title, the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game (Cyberpunk TCG), is developed under an official license from CD Projekt Red. Drawing inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the project achieved significant commercial success in 2026, becoming the most-funded trading card game in the history of the Kickstarter platform. To support its competitive ecosystem, WeirdCo utilizes the Night City Gauntlet, an organized play circuit integrated with Melee.gg to manage tournament operations, rankings, and event logistics.
Operational Model
WeirdCo operates as a remote-first, distributed organization. While the company maintains its corporate headquarters in Seattle, Washington, it does not operate a public-facing physical studio facility, relying instead on a decentralized team of designers, artists, and operations staff.
