About Triband
An independent Copenhagen game developer and publisher, Triband creates comedy-led interactive experiences built around physical humour, unexpected interactions, and playful genre subversion. Founded in 2015, the studio develops games whose rules, systems, and player actions are designed to produce surprising and often absurd results.
Its best-known release is WHAT THE GOLF?, an unconventional take on golf that became a notable Apple Arcade title before expanding to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation platforms, and Apple Vision Pro. The studio's catalogue also includes the VR game WHAT THE BAT?, the physics-driven racer WHAT THE CAR?, competitive multiplayer title WHAT THE CLASH?, and Keyboard Sports – Saving QWERTY.
Development approach
Triband works across the full game-development process, including prototyping, systems design, production, cross-platform optimization, publishing, community work, and ongoing game support. Its releases have reached platforms including Apple Arcade, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and spatial-computing devices.
The studio specializes in comedy game design, experimental gameplay, physics-based puzzle and action mechanics, systemic interaction, and Unity-based development tooling. Rather than treating humour as an added narrative layer, its projects build comedy directly into controls, mechanics, and the unexpected consequences of player experimentation.
Independent studio history
Triband began as a collaborative project in Copenhagen and received early seed investment from Danish incubator Capnova. The company later bought out Capnova's stake, returning ownership to its founders and management.
Alongside maintaining its released games, Triband is developing a new systemic open-world project based on original intellectual property.
