About THE LINE
THE LINE is a London-based animation and creative production studio working across stylised 2D and 3D animation, game cinematics, music videos, commercial campaigns and original entertainment IP. Founded in 2013 by a collective of freelance artists and animators, the studio formalised as The Line Animation Studio Ltd in 2017.
Its work combines hand-drawn character animation and sakuga-influenced action with CGI modelling, non-photorealistic rendering, compositing and hybrid 2D/3D production. The team also develops visual worlds from early concept work through storyboarding, animatics, layout, rigging and final animation.
Animation for games, music and brands
THE LINE produces launch trailers, prologue films, in-game assets and social campaigns for interactive entertainment, alongside animated music videos and branded films. Its game work includes projects for Supergiant Games, Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Digital Extremes, Theorycraft Games and Marvel Snap. Music collaborations include work with Gorillaz, True Damage, Lil Nas X, Porter Robinson and Mat Zo.
Selected credits include Hades II, League of Legends Worlds 2020, Valorant: Die For You, Overwatch 2 x Transformers, Warframe: 1999, Marvel Snap: Hero, Gorillaz’s Humility and Song Machine, and Lil Nas X’s Star Walkin’.
Original worlds and production development
Alongside commissioned work, the studio develops its own short films, series, features and games. Its original projects include Everything I Can See From Here, Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit, Heavenly Vessel, The Mighty Grand Piton, Amaro & Walden / Joyride and the game Cargo.
THE LINE’s production offering spans creative development, character and world design, storyboarding, animation, visual effects, compositing, commercial production and interactive development. Following a 2024 brand identity update, it adopted thelinestudio.com as its primary web home while continuing its animation, entertainment and games work.
