About Superprod
Superprod is a French audiovisual production company founded in Paris in 2010 by former Gaumont Animation executives Clément Calvet and Jérémie Fajner. Operating under the wider Superprod Group banner, it develops, produces and distributes animated series, animated feature films and live-action fiction for international audiences.
The company combines creative development, executive production and full-pipeline animation production. Its work spans hand-drawn, cut-out, 3D CGI and hybrid 2D/3D animation, alongside live-action drama, feature development and international co-production packaging. Superprod’s animation production approach is supported by its custom Flow pipeline, built on Pixar’s open-source Universal Scene Description technology.
Production and distribution
Superprod’s production activity encompasses visual development, storyboarding, modelling, rigging, layout, animation, lighting, rendering, compositing and post-production. Its credited productions include Batwheels, Spirit Rangers, Go! Go! Cory Carson, The Adventures of Paddington, Trash Truck, White Fang, Pat the Dog, Lassie, Geronimo Stilton and Underdog.
The group also includes Superprod Films for feature production and Superprod Drama for live-action fiction. Its distribution arm, Superights, was launched in 2014 to distribute children’s and family content internationally, while 440 HZ handles music publishing, scoring and royalty administration for film and television productions.
International development
From its French production base, Superprod has expanded through production and distribution partnerships and acquisitions in Europe and North America. The group acquired Red Monk Studio in Milan in 2020, The Co-Production Company in New York in 2022, and Mélusine Productions and Studio 352 in Luxembourg in 2024. It also launched UK production company Wheel In Motion in 2024 and acquired a majority stake in Watch Next Media the same year.
This combination of animation, live-action, financing, distribution and music-rights capabilities supports Superprod’s work across children’s, family and broader entertainment markets.
