About Saber Interactive
Saber Interactive is an American video game developer, publisher, and engine-technology company founded in 2001. Its work spans original games, licensed properties, co-development, publishing, and technical adaptation for console, PC, and cloud platforms.
The studio develops AAA multi-platform games and supports partners with full-cycle development, co-development, engine engineering, cross-platform multiplayer systems, live-operations infrastructure, porting, and remastering. Its proprietary technology includes the Saber3D Engine and swarm-simulation rendering systems, supporting large-scale real-time action and simulation experiences.
Games and collaborations
Saber has developed and published titles including World War Z, SnowRunner, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, Evil Dead: The Game, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. It has also worked on high-profile adaptations and collaborations, including the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Crysis Remastered Trilogy, and Quake Champions.
Its publishing activity includes A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, while its announced development slate includes John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park: Survival. The company has partnered with publishers and platform holders including Microsoft, Focus Entertainment, CD Projekt Red, 2K Games, and Bethesda Softworks.
Independent operation
After operating within Embracer Group from 2020, Saber was divested in March 2024 to Beacon Interactive, an investment entity controlled by Saber co-founder Matthew Karch. The company continues as an active, privately held developer and publisher, supported by internal development branches and a network of separately operated affiliated studios.
Saber’s portfolio combines original IP with licensed games, technical co-development, and platform-focused adaptation, with particular strengths in action games, driving and off-road simulation, multiplayer experiences, and large-scale real-time 3D production.
