About Respawn Entertainment

Respawn Entertainment is an American AAA game-development studio founded in 2010 by Jason West and Vince Zampella. Now a wholly owned Electronic Arts subsidiary, it develops games across console, PC, mobile, and virtual-reality platforms, combining first-person action, narrative-led adventures, and long-running multiplayer operations.

The studio debuted with Titanfall in 2014, introducing a science-fiction shooter built around rapid pilot movement, wall-running, and Titan combat. Titanfall 2 expanded that formula with a single-player campaign and refined multiplayer systems. In 2019, Respawn launched Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale set in the Titanfall universe that remains a major focus for live-service development, seasonal content, systems engineering, and multiplayer operations.

Respawn has also built narrative action-adventure games in the Star Wars Jedi series, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Its work extends to virtual reality through Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, as well as collaborative and mobile projects including Titanfall: Assault, Apex Legends Mobile, and Star Wars Zero Company.

Electronic Arts acquired Respawn in December 2017. The studio continues to operate as an active EA development organization, supporting simultaneous AAA productions and ongoing live-service work across its North American development hubs.
