About Princess Bento Studio
Princess Bento Studio is an Australian animation production company focused on prime-time and adult 2D television, shorts, and streaming projects for international audiences. Established in 2020 as a joint venture between Princess Pictures and Bento Box Entertainment, it develops and delivers animation for broadcast, subscription streaming, and co-production partners.
The studio works across the 2D production pipeline, from development and storyboarding through design, animation, scene assembly, visual effects, compositing, and post-production. Its production approach combines Toon Boom Harmony rigged animation with traditional hand-drawn character animation, supported by character and prop design, background art, technical rigging, layout, and retake work.
Production work
Princess Bento has served as a production studio or animation-services partner on adult-animation and comedy projects including:
- Smiling Friends seasons 1 and 2
- YOLO: Crystal Fantasy and YOLO: Silver Destiny, with YOLO: Rainbow Trinity in development
- Koala Man
- Hazbin Hotel season 1
- Universal Basic Guys
- Beyond Measure
- Mulligan and Krapopolis
Its current and developing slate also includes Manimorphs and an untitled long-form hand-drawn animated series for Netflix.
Capabilities
The company provides full-pipeline 2D animation production and third-party animation services, including traditional and rigged character animation, storyboarding and animatics, background illustration and colour styling, scene assembly, layout, retake animation, compositing, and episodic co-production management.
