About the role
Overview
Princess Bento is offering a 6-month paid 2D Character Animation Placement, supported by VicScreen, to help early-career 2D character animators build their skills on a 2D adult animated series. This is a full-time position based in the South Melbourne studio.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the animation team to learn the fundamentals of 2D animation.
- Contribute animation to the series with guidance from senior staff and department leads.
- Receive additional training in Harmony for animation.
Candidate Requirements
- A recent graduate or early-career 2D animator seeking entry into series animation.
- A basic understanding of the 2D animation pipeline and relevant skills in the design department.
- Strong communication skills, a great work ethic, and workplace professionalism.
- A true passion for adult animation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Victorian resident.
- Must have lived in Victoria for at least 6 months immediately preceding the start of the placement.
- Must be a graduate of a relevant post-secondary study or possess basic industry experience necessary to fulfill the placement.
- Must not be currently or previously engaged (as an employee, contractor, or otherwise) by Princess Bento or a related company.
- Must not be seeking to undertake the placement for course credit or to meet other educational requirements.
Timeline
- Applications close: 5:00PM on 9th October 2026.
- Interview period: Week commencing 16th November 2026.
- Notification of successful candidate: By 18th December 2026.
- Placement start date: 27th January 2027.
