About Pipeworks Studios

Pipeworks Studios is a Eugene, Oregon-based video game developer founded in November 1999 by Dan White and Dan Duncalf. The studio has grown from early real-time 3D graphics demonstrations for the original Xbox into a long-running development partner for console, PC, mobile, and live-service games.

Its work spans full-cycle game development, AAA co-development, engineering support, cross-platform porting, and post-launch live operations. Pipeworks also develops original IP and purpose-driven interactive experiences for educational, healthcare, and defense or government simulation applications.

Development capabilities

  • Full lifecycle development from concept and pre-production through launch
  • Co-development engineering, systems programming, graphics rendering, technical art, animation, and production management
  • Console, PC, and mobile porting, engine optimization, DLC, and live-service maintenance
  • Games-as-a-Service operations and original interactive products

The studio’s credits include the Godzilla fighting-game trilogy, Prominence Poker, console and mobile work on Terraria, and co-development contributions to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, EA Sports College Football 25, Madden NFL 25, and Ara: History Untold.

Pipeworks became part of Virtuos in 2025 while remaining an operationally distinct studio. Its Eugene facility serves as the company’s collaborative and operational hub for on-site, hybrid, and remote teams. The studio continues to combine technical production work with live-service support and original game development.
