Newscape Studios is an independent digital animation and media-production company focused on high-cadence 2D animation, machinima and gaming-led narrative entertainment for online audiences. Founded by Cory Crater, the business grew from early NewScape video and machinima work into a studio producing original series, branded content and commercial animation for game publishers and digital creator brands.

Its output spans original YouTube entertainment and narrative gaming formats, with flagship channels and series including GameToons, SCP Animated: Tales from the Foundation, GameTunes, NewScapePro, PrincessHana, Bronzo and Battle Blasters. The studio has also produced promotional animation for projects including One Punch Man: The Strongest, Cookie Run: Kingdom and The Ants: Underground Kingdom, and collaborated with TBNR Productions on PrestonCartoonz.

Production capabilities

Newscape combines 2D character animation with in-engine filmmaking across Fortnite, Minecraft and Roblox. Its services cover concept development, scripting, voice casting and direction, storyboarding, environment and character design, compositing, sound design, lighting and visual effects, editing, and merchandise design tied to studio intellectual property.

The team uses a distributed production model, drawing on Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Procreate to support rapid episodic production. The company describes its workforce as a remote network of core staff and specialist contractors, coordinated around major talent hubs in Texas and Colorado.

Company history

Newscape traces its roots to gaming-video and machinima production begun under the NewScape banner around 2015. Formal studio operations commenced in New Hampshire in 2017, followed by a 2019 move to Texas and incorporation as Newscape Studios, Inc. The studio subsequently expanded its creative capacity in Colorado while continuing to develop animation, live-action and storytelling work for its digital network and commercial clients.

Distributed production model
