About the role
Job Summary
Newscape Studios, Inc manages a dozen YouTube channels with over 10 million total subscribers. The studio creates content based on video games such as Fortnite and Minecraft, along with original animations. Newscape produces a vast array of videos for a young audience through animation and machinima. The team is currently seeking Freelance Cutout/Rigged Character Animators to join the production.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain an organized and efficient workflow that balances quality and output requirements.
- Produce approximately 25 shots / 2 and a half minutes of animation per week.
- Execute expert level cutout/rigged character animation in Toon Boom Harmony.
- Navigate and utilize Toon Boom node view and associated tools.
- Perform light compositing work in Harmony, including lighting and effects.
- Complete revisions by the deadline provided by the lead.
- Apply strong draftsmanship skills to create assets, poses, and drawing subs.
- Execute simple to moderate level frame-by-frame or hand animation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience with Toon Boom Harmony (Required).
- 1+ years of studio production experience (Required).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animation fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony node systems.
- Strong draftsmanship capabilities.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of animation styles.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong literacy with written, verbal, and storyboard notes.
- Effective communication and listening skills.
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and daily quotas.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Compensation and Employment Details
- Type: Remote / Work from home, Independent Contractor position.
- Pay: Competitive base pay of $880 per production week.
- Status: Artists with LLCs are preferred but not required.
