Mikros Animation

Mikros Animation is a CGI animation and creative-production studio focused on feature films and high-end episodic work. Its practice spans visual development, character and environment design, storyboarding, previsualization, animation, lighting, rendering and digital compositing, supporting both turnkey productions and work-for-hire collaborations.

The studio’s history traces to Mikros Image, the French visual-effects and post-production business founded in 1985. Mikros expanded into full-length 3D feature animation in 2012, with early milestones including Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods and The Little Prince. In 2021, Technicolor consolidated its animation operations under the Mikros Animation name. Following Technicolor’s 2025 insolvency, Rodeo FX acquired Mikros Animation’s brand, feature-production assets and core operations; the studio now operates as a dedicated animation company within the Rodeo FX group.

• 3D production services including modeling, rigging, surfacing, layout, keyframe character animation, crowd simulation, CFX, lighting, look development, rendering and compositing.
• Production support for stylized character animation and global multi-studio feature pipelines.

Mikros Animation’s credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, PAW Patrol: The Movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, Orion and the Dark, Thelma the Unicorn, Ozi: Voice of the Forest, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie and Sherlock Gnomes.

The company maintains a linked production pipeline across Paris, Montreal and Bengaluru. Its Paris operation moved to a consolidated facility in 2026, while its Bengaluru hub expanded to support large-scale animation production. Under Rodeo FX ownership, Mikros Animation retains a distinct feature-animation focus and creative leadership while continuing work on projects including PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie and an untitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem sequel.
