Studio Overview

makRP is an independent game development studio founded in 2026 by game designers Rocky Maksoud and "Tea." Operating as a fully remote, lean production team, the studio is legally registered in the State of Texas. The studio was established to develop its debut title, a standalone multiplayer roleplaying sandbox game, following the founders' earlier experience in the industry with their 2014 venture, Hella Games Entertainment.

Development Philosophy

makRP operates on a milestone-based, asynchronous model that prioritizes simplicity and direct communication. The studio maintains a "no-manager" environment, utilizing tools like Discord and Trello for coordination. The team is intentionally kept small to ensure quality and fair compensation, with a performance-based bonus structure tied to the commercial success of their projects. The studio is transparent about its use of generative AI, employing it strictly as a technical workflow accelerant for repetitive tasks while retaining all creative direction and artistic vision in-house.

Core Project: makRP

The studio's primary focus is the development of makRP, a standalone, Unity-based multiplayer crime game. Inspired by roleplaying modes in titles such as Garry's Mod (DarkRP), FiveM, and SAMP, the game is designed to support 100 to 150 concurrent players per server. The gameplay centers on emergent, player-driven dynamics between criminals and police, intentionally removing active server administration and restrictive rule sets to foster organic roleplay experiences.

Recruitment and Operations

makRP recruits freelance specialists globally on a milestone-driven basis. The studio emphasizes a pragmatic, action-oriented work culture, explicitly avoiding traditional corporate hierarchies and lengthy interview processes. All development is self-funded, reflecting the founders' commitment to completing the project as a long-term passion endeavor.
