About Lion Studios
Lion Studios is a mobile game publisher and developer focused on hyper-casual, hybrid-casual, puzzle, logic, simulation, and other mobile experiences. Founded in 2018 following the early launch of Love Balls, the studio combines publishing expertise with product development and supports games through their full commercial lifecycle.
Its work spans game publishing, performance marketing and user acquisition, creative testing, product management, analytics, monetization strategy, and live-operations scaling. Lion Studios uses A/B testing, market intelligence, data science, and hybrid in-app purchase and advertising models to help games find audiences and sustain engagement.
Publishing focus
The studio initially became known in the hyper-casual market, then expanded toward hybrid-casual and puzzle-led games with deeper progression loops and live-service frameworks. Its catalogue includes titles such as Hexa Sort, Wordle!, Save The Girl, Mr Bullet, Point Out, Arrow Out, Love Balls, Hooked Inc: Fisher Tycoon, Slap Kings, Happy Glass, Match 3D, and Cake Sort Puzzle 3D.
Lion Studios has worked with independent developers as a publishing partner; Love Balls, for example, was published with SuperTapx. The studio also offers developer funding and strategic growth consultation alongside its publishing and operational services.
Current ownership
Originally launched by AppLovin as an internal game-publishing division, Lion Studios became part of Tripledot Studios in July 2025 when Tripledot acquired AppLovin’s mobile gaming studio division. Lion Studios remains an active operating subsidiary within Tripledot’s mobile-game portfolio.
The company serves mobile gaming, video games, digital entertainment, and mobile advertising markets. Its capabilities cover the commercial and operational side of mobile games, from early market testing and acquisition strategy through monetization, analytics, and ongoing live operations.
