GATE, widely known as The Gate Films, is a full-service creative and commercial production studio based in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1997 in Manchester, the studio has evolved from an independent boutique production house into a major creative powerhouse, now operating as a specialized production unit within the Tag Worldwide and Dentsu Group network. GATE provides end-to-end production services, ranging from creative ideation and script development to high-end live-action filming, post-production, and photography.

GATE manages a hybrid production model that combines a curated roster of commercial directors and photographers with extensive in-house infrastructure. The studio is recognized for its versatility across multiple sectors, including automotive, retail, food and beverage, and sports. Key capabilities include:

Infrastructure and Facilities

Central to the studio's operations is The Foundry Film Studios in Salford, Greater Manchester. This facility serves as a primary production hub, featuring over 5,000 square feet of dedicated stage space. The studio complex includes one of the North West's largest three-sided infinity coves, a secondary daylight studio, overhead lighting rigs, and comprehensive client hospitality suites. In 2026, the company expanded its corporate and production presence by integrating its London operations into the Dentsu UK headquarters at Regent’s Place, providing enhanced access to advanced post-production and audio suites.

Network and Scale

Following its acquisition by Tag Worldwide in 2023 and subsequent integration into the Dentsu Group, GATE leverages a global network of production specialists.
