About Cat Daddy Games
Cat Daddy Games is a Kirkland, Washington-based video game development studio and a wholly owned subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., operating under the 2K publishing label. Founded in 1996, the studio develops full-cycle interactive entertainment with a particular focus on mobile free-to-play games, live-service operations, companion apps, and cross-platform game engineering.
The studio’s early catalogue included PC simulation and tycoon titles such as Casino Tycoon, Golf Resort Tycoon, Mall Tycoon, and School Tycoon. Following Take-Two’s 2003 acquisition, Cat Daddy expanded into motion-control and console development through the Carnival Games franchise, including Carnival Games: Mini Golf, Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do!, and Carnival Games VR.

Its portfolio includes WWE SuperCard, co-developed with Visual Concepts; NBA 2K Mobile; the MyNBA2K companion-app series; and NFL 2K Playmakers, created in partnership with the NFL and NFLPA.
Its supported capabilities include:
- Mobile game development for iOS and Android
- Full-cycle game engineering and design
- Live operations, content pipelines, player relations, and economy balancing
- UI/UX design and 2D/3D asset production
- Server and cloud-infrastructure integration
- Unity development, proprietary game-engine programming, and mobile optimization
- Virtual reality and motion-gaming development
Cat Daddy also works across collectible card battling games, casual and simulation titles, and licensed sports and entertainment games. Its live-service experience spans ongoing content updates, game tuning, community-facing operations, and technical delivery for mobile audiences.
As an active 2K studio, Cat Daddy continues development and live-service support for franchises including WWE SuperCard, NBA 2K Mobile, and NFL 2K Playmakers.
More about Cat Daddy Games
Studio heritage
The name “Cat Daddy” was inspired by a timber-industry term for lumberjacks who climbed snagged trees to cut entangled branches without a safety net. The founders adopted the image as an expression of creative bravery and nimble development.
Leadership transition
In late 2025, founders and long-time studio heads Harley Howe and Patrick Wilkinson announced their retirement. Veteran leader Shaun Collins became Studio Head, while Howe moved into a consulting capacity.
