About ArtWorkout
ArtWorkout is an independent educational-technology and mobile-app studio focused on making digital art instruction more accessible through gamification and real-time feedback. Its flagship drawing platform helps users practise sketching, shading, painting, illustration and handwriting across iOS, iPadOS and Android.
The product is built around proprietary technology that evaluates the accuracy and curvature of hand-drawn strokes as users work. Rather than presenting lessons as passive tutorials, ArtWorkout provides immediate brush-quality feedback and structured practice designed to help beginners develop drawing habits over time.
Learning through interaction
ArtWorkout combines art instruction with progression systems intended to make regular practice approachable:
- More than 3,500 bite-sized lessons spanning drawing, sketching, painting and calligraphy.
- Daily practice goals, streaks and non-judgmental progress tracking.
- Stylus and digital-inking optimisation, including Apple Pencil use on iPad.
- Real-time collaborative canvas features that let users create together synchronously or asynchronously.
The studio also develops and operates the app as a live product, pairing educational content with community challenges, creator collaborations and video-content programmes. Its creator-driven marketing approach has involved independent artists demonstrating the app on social platforms, while its community activity includes art contests and grants.
ArtWorkout began development in 2019 and released its initial commercial iOS version in 2021. It operates as a distributed remote organisation, with engineers, designers, product specialists, testers and a wider network of independent creators working online across multiple countries. The business uses a hybrid model of premium subscriptions and integrated advertising to support the platform.
Flagship work
Its principal release, ArtWorkout: Learn How to Draw, brings together guided lessons, instant stroke evaluation, daily practice mechanics and collaborative drawing tools in one mobile experience. The studio has also run ArtWorkout Crazy Stories, a community contest and creator-engagement campaign centred on user-generated art storytelling.

Product experimentation
The team introduced its real-time Multiplayer Mode during an internal hackathon. The feature enables users in different locations to work on shared digital canvases either synchronously or asynchronously.
