About the role
Role Overview
The Render Wrangling team supports the rendering process across productions by monitoring the render farm and participating in all aspects of the production pipeline. This is a specialized support role unique to the film and visual effects industry, involving rendering, data processing, and delivering VFX work to global clients.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and maintain the ability of the Render Farm to function at its maximum.
- Maintain and track rendering priorities for production teams.
- Troubleshoot rendering issues and escalate appropriately.
- Work closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to support production.
Requirements
- Excellent communicator and team player.
- Familiarity with Linux or other UNIX systems.
- Willingness to work shift work and variable hours (between 40 - 50 hours per week).
- Tertiary Degree or Cert in IT, Comp Sci, or Digital Media Design (Animation, Digital Art, 3D Modelling, Web Development), or relevant industry experience.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Knowledge of Katana, Nuke, Maya, or other VFX industry tooling.
Desirable Skills
- Service desk or customer service experience.
- Basic understanding of machine hardware components, networking, and system monitoring tools.
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python.
- Data analysis and graphing.
