About the role

Animation Artist

Animation · Remote · Full-time

We're looking for an experienced Senior Animation Artist to help develop our Dark Fantasy Anime Action RPG. In this role, you'll bring characters, creatures, and combat systems to life with stylized, powerful animations, shaping the visual identity and feel of our title in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality character, creature, and combat animations in an anime / dark fantasy style
  • Deliver gameplay animations (locomotion, attacks, skills, reactions) with a strong focus on responsiveness and game feel
  • Work with rigs and skeletons using Maya and Human IK
  • Collaborate closely with Design and Programming to align animation with gameplay logic

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in game development
  • At least one shipped title where you were a key contributor as an animator
  • Strong proficiency in Maya and Human IK
  • Solid understanding of animation principles, timing, weight, Keyframe animation and gameplay-oriented movement
  • Experience with stylized animation (anime, action, fantasy a plus)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, plus a self-driven working style
  • Ability to give and act on feedback constructively

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI-assisted animation tools such as Cascadeur, Cartwheel, or similar
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration
  • Knowledge of combat and action game design
  • Experience with Blueprints or animation scripting
  • A passion for anime, dark fantasy, and action RPGs

Animation Programmer

Remote · Part-Time / Full-Time

We’re looking for an experienced Unreal Engine Animation Programmer (C++ ) to join our anime Action-RPG (PC + Mobile). Your focus will be to take raw animations, game design requirements, and engineering constraints, and breathe life into our characters through expressive movement, crafted with precision and the highest level of quality to captivate our players.

Responsibilities

  • Own animation gameplay programming for character locomotion, traversal, and overall movement feel
  • Extend and maintain our custom ALS version (locomotion stack), ensuring clean integrations and long-term maintainability
  • Work with root motion pipelines, Motion Warping, and Distance Matching to achieve high-quality, responsive movement and combat transitions
  • Partner closely with Design and Animation to translate requirements into robust systems and fast iteration loops
  • Build debugging and visualization tools when needed (animation state debugging, root motion / warp diagnostics, network troubleshooting)
  • Optimize animation-related runtime cost for PC and mobile targets (tick cost, anim graph complexity, update rates, LOD strategies)

Requirements

  • Strong Unreal Engine 5 experience in C++ with a focus on animation/gameplay integration
  • Proven experience shipping or building networked character movement systems (replication and typical pitfalls)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • ALS (Advanced Locomotion System) or comparable custom locomotion frameworks
    • Root motion workflows in Unreal
  • Solid understanding of animation architecture in UE (AnimBlueprints, montages, state machines, notifies, curves) and how to drive it from C++
  • Ability to translate design requirements into production-ready traversal mechanics
  • Strong debugging skills, clean coding practices, and ownership mindset
  • Comfortable working fully remote with clear communication and proactive progress updates
  • Experience with IK Rig / Retargeter, procedural IK, and animation toolchains

Nice to have

  • Experience optimizing animation systems for mobile performance (CPU budgets, tick cost, garbage collection implications)
  • Experience collaborating closely with animators on iteration workflows and tooling

UI Designer

Full-Time

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our team on a stylized anime action RPG / gacha title for PC and mobile, including controller support.

Responsibilities

  • Own the UI/UX design process across the game in close collaboration with design, programming, and art direction.
  • Translate gameplay requirements, feature briefs, references, and visual goals into sketches, wireframes, user flows, mockups, and final UI designs.
  • Help shape the UX of a cross-platform experience for PC, mobile, and console.
  • Create UI that is not only visually appealing, but also highly readable, intuitive, and satisfying to use.
  • Translate wireframes into polished interface concepts with strong motion design thinking, helping avoid static or lifeless UI presentation.
  • Prepare clear handoff material and documentation so engineers can implement the UI efficiently.
  • Contribute to a growing UI guideline / style guide document and support process documentation in parallel with production.
  • Collaborate where needed with monetization-related design to create strong reward presentation and other high-impact interface moments.

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a UI Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role in the games industry.
  • Strong understanding of readability, information hierarchy, layout clarity, and user experience principles.
  • Strong modular thinking, with the ability to create scalable and reusable UI solutions that improve production efficiency while maintaining a compelling user experience.
  • Experience creating wireframes, user flows, polished mockups, and production-ready UI documentation.
  • Strong understanding of how to create interesting and juicy UI motion concepts that bring interfaces to life and support game feel.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in close collaboration with game designers, programmers, and art stakeholders.
  • Experience building and maintaining a UI design system / style guide during production.
  • Passion for creating the 2D UI elements and assets yourself, not only the layout and UX concept.

Nice to have

  • Experience as a 2D artist for interface elements, icons, frames, panels, and other supporting visual assets.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine UI workflows, especially:
    • UMG
    • Widget animations
    • UI effect materials
  • Ability to build UI layouts directly in Unreal's Widget Designer.
  • Experience preparing motion references or implementation-oriented design documentation for engineers.
  • Experience with reward presentation, monetization-related UI, or gacha-driven interface moments.

VFX Artist

Remote · Full-Time

We're building a stylized anime action ARPG set in a dark fantasy world, developed in Unreal Engine 5. Combat is fast, readable, and spectacle-driven; think the visual energy of titles like Wuthering Waves, grounded in a darker, moodier art direction. As a Senior VFX Artist, you'll help shape the look and feel of our real-time effects across the whole project: from split-second combat abilities to atmospheric environments and high-impact cinematic moments. Working alongside our existing VFX artist, you'll help raise the quality bar, refine our VFX pipeline and style guides, and be a key creative voice shaping how the game feels to play.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality, stylized real-time VFX for combat and gameplay — character skills, abilities, hit reactions, buffs/debuffs, and status effects — with a strong focus on readability and game feel.
  • Design and polish boss and enemy VFX, including signature attacks, phase transitions, and telegraphs that stay clear even in chaotic combat.
  • Craft environmental and atmospheric effects — weather, ambient particles, magic, destruction — that reinforce the dark fantasy mood across our biomes.
  • Build cinematic VFX for cutscenes and key story moments, working with the animation and cinematics team.
  • Help establish and maintain VFX style guides, standards, and reusable systems/libraries to keep quality consistent across the team as it scales.
  • Optimize effects for performance across PC and mobile targets without sacrificing visual punch.
  • Partner with gameplay and technical artists to integrate VFX cleanly with our ability system and animation pipeline.
  • Mentor and give feedback to other artists, and help shape our VFX pipeline and tooling.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional VFX experience in games, with at least one shipped or substantially developed title.
  • Strong command of Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara, including emitters, modules, and data-driven effect systems.
  • A portfolio demonstrating stylized / anime-style real-time VFX — not just realistic effects.
  • Deep understanding of game feel and combat readability: timing, silhouette, color language, and how VFX communicates gameplay.
  • Solid skills in authoring VFX assets — flipbooks, meshes, trails, and materials — including hand-authored textures and shader-driven effects.
  • Comfortable working with material editor / node-based shaders in UE5.
  • Strong grasp of performance optimization and profiling for real-time effects.
  • Excellent communication in English and the ability to work independently in a distributed, remote team.

Nice to have

  • Prior work on mobile or cross-platform (PC + mobile) titles and their performance constraints.
  • Familiarity with Unreal's Gameplay Ability System (GAS) and how VFX hooks into abilities.
  • Experience with Houdini, or procedural/simulation workflows feeding into real-time.
  • Comfort with HLSL / custom shader authoring beyond the node graph.
  • A love for the action ARPG / character-action genre and its reference titles (Wuthering Waves, Honkai, Genshin, PGR, etc.).
  • Basic scripting (Python / Blueprint) for VFX tooling and workflow automation.
