As part of our EA SPORTS FC studio, the Technical Art Team helps push visual boundaries and experiences for our players. We invest in future technologies, shared tooling, and production workflows. We combine creativity and imagination with technical expertise. We are a diverse group that encourages team members to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to work every day.
Your Responsibilities
The Technical Artist is a bridge between the artists and engineers. TAs are considered part of the Core FC development team and work closely with artists, project managers, and Software Engineers.
Core areas of responsibility:
- Art production workflows
- Tools, pipelines, asset optimization, and integration
- Shader development
Expectations:
- Assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on the project and bring them to resolution.
- Develop new and existing experiences on EA SPORTS FC.
- Potential to work on new features and game modes.
- Ability to act as a solutions-provider, particularly regarding testing and debugging technical issues.
- A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems; the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
Your Qualifications
- At least 3 years of cinematic/games production experience.
- Effective at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
- Extensive experience scripting/programming in python and C#.
- Knowledge of 3D art packages (Maya).
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
- Can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science background; however, you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and programming.
- A passion for games.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Game engine experience in environment creation.
- Experience working with schematic-based development and environment creation.
- C++ programming experience is a bonus.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range (British Columbia): $104,500 - $142,800 CAD. Pay offered will be determined based on business and candidate factors (e.g., education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
