Role Overview
Electronic Arts is seeking an Associate Technical Artist for the EA SPORTS FC team. This role serves as a bridge between artists and engineers, responsible for art production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization, integration, and shader development. The candidate will be part of the Core FC team and is expected to take ownership of technical issues and resolve them.
Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact and technical bridge between artists and engineers.
- Contribute to art production workflows, shared tooling, and pipeline development.
- Perform asset optimization and integration.
- Develop shaders to push visual boundaries.
- Own and resolve technical issues that arise during project development.
- Collaborate closely with artists, project managers, Software Engineers (SEs), and the Technical Art team.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1 year of cinematic or games production experience.
- Education: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
- Backgrounds: Suitable for candidates from Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science backgrounds.
- Technical Skills:
- Scripting/programming proficiency in Python and C#.
- C++ is considered a bonus.
- Demonstrated ability to work with both art and science.
- Extended knowledge and experience working with 3D art packages (Maya) and other DCC tools is preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Effective communication skills for diverse audiences (artists, engineers, managers).
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly regarding testing and debugging.
- Creative mindset for resolving technical challenges and limitations.
- A passion for games.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $74,100 - $102,000 CAD (determined by factors including education, qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location).
