Internship Overview

Activision is seeking talented and innovative students for summer 2027 internships. Interns will receive meaningful projects and tools and resources to learn. Work will be in-person, with hosting managers determining the frequency of office attendance. Interns may opt into relocation services (flights, trains, or car mileage reimbursement) and will receive a living stipend for housing, utilities, commuting, and miscellaneous costs.


Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Available for a 12-week internship starting in mid-May or mid-June.
  • Currently residing in the US or open to self-relocation.
  • Exhibits learning agility, ability to think differently, and grasp new concepts.
  • Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Works well with others and contributes to team tasks.
  • Effectively communicates problems, solutions, needs, or priorities.

Internship Opportunities

Development QA Intern

The Studio Development QA team works embedded within departments, assisting Directors, Design teams, Engineers, Artists, and production teams with testing, facilitating daily playtests, and managing the playtest "bullpen." The intern will learn Functional QA Testing and embedded QA tasks.

  • Requirements:
    • Experience with software, tools, and platforms like Jira, Miro, and Confluence.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with communication tools such as Slack or Discord.
    • Passion for game development.
    • Prior playtesting experience is a plus.

Game Production Intern

This role focuses on the production aspect of implementing new features into a major game title, helping to facilitate and manage the guidance and direction of the project.

  • Requirements:
    • Experience with project management, scheduling, and timeline creation.
    • Experience with software, tools, and platforms such as Jira, Excel, Miro, and Confluence.
    • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
    • Interest in coordinating work across multiple teams and driving features from concept to completion.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute to feature development.
    • Ability to work closely with Quality Assurance (QA), including supporting test planning, bug triage, validation, and gameplay testing.
    • Strong interest in video game development and familiarity with modern game genres, systems, and player experiences.
    • Passion for games and a desire to learn how features are developed, shipped, and supported in a live production environment.

Tech Production Intern

The Tech Production team manages internal projects, focusing on "under the hood" tasks including creating, updating, and maintaining tools, processes, and infrastructure.

  • Requirements:
    • Experience with project management, scheduling, and timeline creation.
    • Experience with software, tools, and platforms like Jira, Excel, Miro, and Confluence.
    • Experience with engineering tools and methods (GitHub, unit testing, continuous integration, etc.).
  • Hosting Location: Central Technology (Sherman Oaks, CA)

  • Compensation: The standard base pay range for this role is $20.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience, performance, and work location. Incentive compensation may be available.
