Role Overview
The Sound Designer joins the studio team to create audio for games, base game mechanics, features, and marketing products. The role is responsible for the sound signature of company creations, ensuring intellectual property guidelines are followed and deadlines are met. The work involves collaboration with animators, developers, the Creative Director, and the Lead Artist.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt sounds to the iGaming version of existing games.
- Create sounds for various game themes and animatics.
- Deliver sound assets to the creative and development teams on time.
- Optimize sounds for online games, including mobile-specific requirements (e.g., mono vs. stereo).
- Assist creative and developer teams with sound integration regarding timing and length.
- Produce original sounds while maintaining high artistic quality.
- Ensure all work complies with intellectual property and copyright guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A relevant degree in a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Sound Composer in the gaming, video gaming, or multimedia industry.
- Skills:
- Solid experience in sound design for the video game, casino game, or multimedia industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Cubase and Reaper.
- Strong knowledge of sound formats (OGG vs. WAV).
- Perfect knowledge of audio/animation timing.
- Ability to understand complex game mechanics and features.
- Technical aptitude and professional rigor.
- Familiarity with JIRA and agile methodology.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Slack, and Teams.
- Proactive approach and ability to maintain updated sound database libraries.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Haves)
- Knowledge of additional sound tools, libraries, and plug-ins, including:
- Izotope Music Production Suite
- Native Instrument Komplete Bundle
