About the role
Role Overview
The Core Services group is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join the Artist Tool project within the Data Services workstream. This team builds foundational technologies, enterprise-level infrastructure, and abstraction layers for internal database models. The Artist Tool is a browser-based production landing page for VFX artists. The team is currently transitioning backend services from Python to Golang.

Responsibilities
- Work with a software architect to participate in the design and specification of the product.
- Implement the user interface.
- Develop new GraphQL and REST backends.
- Create documentation, playbooks, and tests.
- Identify, debug, and solve frontend and backend bugs and performance issues.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Provide sprint-based progress updates.
- Coordinate and collaborate with remote teams across different time zones.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience (non-intern).
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript and CSS.
- Experience with Golang and/or Python.
- Knowledge of RDBMS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent subject, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Agile development experience using the Scrum framework.
- GraphQL experience.
- Professional knowledge of NoSQL (Neo4j / Mongo).
- Familiarity with development in a Linux environment.
- Previous experience working in VFX, Feature Animation, or Games environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to tackle problems head-on.
