About the Role

Role Overview

The Core Services group is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join the Artist Tool project within the Data Services workstream. This team builds foundational technologies, enterprise-level infrastructure, and abstraction layers for internal database models. The Artist Tool is a browser-based production landing page for VFX artists. The team is currently transitioning backend services from Python to Golang.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a software architect to participate in the design and specification of the product.
  • Implement the user interface.
  • Develop new GraphQL and REST backends.
  • Create documentation, playbooks, and tests.
  • Identify, debug, and solve frontend and backend bugs and performance issues.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Provide sprint-based progress updates.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with remote teams across different time zones.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience (non-intern).
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript and CSS.
  • Experience with Golang and/or Python.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent subject, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile development experience using the Scrum framework.
  • GraphQL experience.
  • Professional knowledge of NoSQL (Neo4j / Mongo).
  • Familiarity with development in a Linux environment.
  • Previous experience working in VFX, Feature Animation, or Games environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to tackle problems head-on.
