Job Description
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a Social Media Manager to temporarily support the Diablo IV Marketing team. This hands-on role will support the December 1 launch of Diablo IV Season 16 and maintain the ongoing social content cadence through January 2027, including the holiday period.
Working closely with our social agency and internal partners, this role will coordinate content production, reviews, approvals, and publishing oversight to keep day-to-day social operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate can get up to speed quickly, work independently, and maintain continuity, while also helping develop the Season 17 social agency brief using established templates and guidance.
This role reports directly to the Director, Social & Content at Diablo.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Diablo social content calendar and coordinate schedules with agency partners and internal stakeholders.
- Track deadlines, deliverables, dependencies, and approvals to keep work on schedule.
- Support development of the Season 17 social agency brief using established templates and guidance; this responsibility does not include ownership of broader social strategy.
- Proactively flag risks, schedule changes, and blockers, and keep stakeholders aligned on next steps.
- Coordinate social creative assets across platforms and channels, including static, video, and motion content.
- Track production status, asset versions, delivery dates, and publishing readiness with agency and internal partners.
- Manage creative reviews and approvals through Opal, Blizzard’s social media project management tool.
- Capture and consolidate creative feedback, route revisions, and confirm required stakeholder approvals.
- Ensure assets meet platform specifications, safe zones, file requirements, and publishing standards.
- Coordinate closely with the agency’s community manager to provide guidance, secure approvals, and ensure approved publishing plans are executed accurately. The agency will handle the majority of direct publishing and community management.
- Serve as a primary operational point of contact for social schedules, approvals, and publishing coordination.
- Coordinate with internal marketing, creative, production, community, regional, and agency partners to keep work moving.
- Attend key planning and review meetings, communicate updates, and confirm owners and next steps.
- Maintain continuity across social operations by routing urgent needs and keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
- Provide occasional, scheduled operational coverage during Blizzard company closures or holiday periods, as needed, to monitor social channels, coordinate with the agency community manager, and escalate time-sensitive issues.
- Partner with the agency and internal teams to ensure coverage plans, escalation paths, and approvals are clear in advance.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in social media, social operations, or content production.
- Experience coordinating social calendars, creative production, and agency workflows.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage deadlines, dependencies, and competing priorities.
- Familiarity with major social platforms, publishing processes, and content specifications.
- Experience using project management and creative review or approval tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams.
Extra Points
- Experience in gaming, entertainment, live-service products, or related audience-driven industries.
- Knowledge of the Diablo franchise, its community, and its audience.
- Experience working with third-party agencies and external partners.
- Familiarity with Opal, Sprinklr, Airtable, Asana, or similar platforms; prior Opal experience is not required.
