Larian Studios is an award-winning developer of high-quality role-playing games, including Baldur’s Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2. The Gameplay Scripting team is central to the development process, collaborating across departments to implement narrative vision and define the player experience through proprietary tools and a game editor.

Responsibilities
- Take internal narrative pitches and create engaging gameplay sequences with a wide variety of outcomes to reward player agency and deliver a fun experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Worldbuilding team to create outstanding game content.
- Contribute towards and own gameplay features and scripting mechanics, organizing teams around feature creation.
- Prepare designs for content implementations, and execute the implementation using proprietary game editor and internal scripting languages.
- Align with the Scripting Leadership on priorities and deadlines.
- Seek to continuously improve development processes and efficiency of implementation and iteration.
- Grow the skills of the local team, mentor Junior staff, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Act as a gatekeeper of quality, proactively flagging issues and risks with Scripting Leadership and the Worldbuilding team.
Requirements
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Professional Technical Design, Gameplay Scripting, or Programming experience.
- Creative Game Design skills, prioritizing the player experience and demonstrating the ability to innovate and iterate consistently with feedback.
- Organizational, analytical, and communicative skills to work on requirements, feedback, and pitch ideas, and to identify risks and opportunities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently.
- Collaborative skills, with the ability to enjoy working with a diverse range of teams and influence positively.
Nice to haves
- Experience with Lua or other scripting languages.
- Experience developing RPG games in a technical designer or programming role.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Perforce version control software.
- Experience modding RPG or other types of games.
- DnD or other tabletop experience.
