Role Overview
The Product Management, Publishing discipline partners with product and publishing leaders to provide analyses, recommendations, solutions, products, and strategies that address complex player experience and business issues. This includes driving initiatives for China in-game event planning, channel collaboration, monetization, and around-game features. As a Product Manager for TFT, the role reports directly to the TFT & FFGS China Publishing Product Lead and contributes to strategy development and execution for TFT player growth, engagement, monetization, and esports initiatives in China.
The role involves working with global teams and publishing partners to connect player needs, market opportunities, business goals, and execution feasibility into actionable plans.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the TFT dev team and Tencent product team to organize efforts, accounting for delivery timelines, product quality, revenue impacts, and opportunity costs.
- Support TFT China operations by helping develop publishing plans, player journey improvements, engagement initiatives, and operational opportunities.
- Support TFT franchise esports strategy by identifying opportunities to strengthen player participation, viewership, and publishing integration.
- Build, report, and maintain business health metrics across engagement, monetization, player sentiment, and market performance.
- Conduct market analysis, business projections, impact assessments, and opportunity evaluations to support decision-making.
- Present business insights, product outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders across Riot, Tencent, and partner teams.
- Explore new around-game product opportunities, publishing experiences, and monetization strategies that enhance the local player experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of professional experience in product management, publishing operations, or in-game experience.
- Experience with PC and strategy games.
- Experience with microtransactions and game monetization, either through design or personal experience.
- Experience building structured strategies, business cases, projections, and decision-making frameworks for product, publishing, or business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of the China gaming market, including player behavior, content trends, monetization preferences, competitive landscape, and platform/channel dynamics.
- Fluent in Chinese and English, with the ability to drive collaboration across language and culture.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in product management, business operation, e-commerce, consulting, or business strategy for consumer-facing products.
- Advanced degrees in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, a related discipline, or comparable work experiences.
- Experienced stakeholder management and rapport-building skills.
- Experience driving projects from planning through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, specifically in translating complex business, player, or market insights into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
