Description
The DNEG Animation Pipeline Operations Manager is responsible for operational execution of the pipeline support teams and resource management for the Animation Technology department. The role focuses on the optimization of the development and support process, defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and providing regular progress reports to the AnimTech and show leadership. The Pipeline Operations Manager reports to the Program Manager and works collaboratively with the Associate Pipeline Operations Manager (East) in providing consistent and global coverage for the DNEG Animation Technology team. This position collaborates closely with the Head of Pipeline of DNEG Animation on resource casting decisions and supports career growth plans and opportunities for the Pipeline TDs and ATDs. The manager partners with the resource management team at DNEG Animation to provide and receive regular updates regarding resource management procedures and policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee pipeline show support teams.
- Collaborate with Head of Pipeline on staffing and casting decisions for the support teams.
- Develop and maintain triage and prioritization process for the support teams.
- Develop and maintain reports for support activity.
- Oversee the training and mentorship program in collaboration with the Head of Pipeline.
- Responsible for resource management questions, including contracts, visas, vacation/holidays, and performance reviews.
- Field HR related questions in alignment with the resource management team.
- Provide staffing requirements and CS updates to DNEG Animation leadership.
- Track new hire candidates from screening, to interviews and the onboarding process.
- Accountable for maintaining the triage and test release rotas.
- Accountable for responding to weekend work requests.
Collaborations and Partnerships
- Partners with the Associate Pipeline Operations Manager (EAST) to provide consistent and global coverage and shape employee resource management processes and policies.
- Partners with the Head of Pipeline and Pipeline Architect on career development and casting decisions.
- Collaborates with Pipeline Supervisors on optimizing the show support process.
- Provides regular support updates to show stakeholders, the pipeline HOD, and pipeline architect to strategize and prioritize support demands.
- Aligns with Resource Management team regarding HR related policies and procedures.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition and recruiters throughout the recruiting process.
- Reports to VP, Anim Technology regarding hiring and budgetary decisions.
- Collaborates with the Pipeline Operations Manager in VFX to ensure the support process is consistent with company-wide standards.
- Collaborates with other DNEG technology teams to respond effectively to technology incidents.
