Role Information

Location: Hybrid Remote, London, United Kingdom
Work Arrangement: Must be local to London to work in-office 3x per week

Description

DNEG Animation is a world-class studio creating high-end animated feature films and episodic content. The studio is growing its global crews for a slate of major new projects, including work on The Garfield Movie, Entergalactic, and Nimona. The role involves interpreting and transposing character designs into 3D while ensuring high-quality and technical asset delivery within established time frames.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create unique CG character models using provided reference material.
  • Submit work to dailies and attend production reviews.
  • Receive and address artistic and technical feedback.
  • Perform quality checks on work before handing off to downstream departments using DNEG protocols.
  • Learn and become familiar with DNEG Modelling Department workflows and pipeline tools.
  • Attend project-specific reviews, discussions, department assembly, and other mandatory meetings.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working on feature animated films of varying artistic styles.
  • Production experience as a Character Modeller.
  • Good understanding of human anatomy and the ability to adapt to any organic lifeforms.
  • Ability to work closely with Modelling Lead/Supervisor to ensure the quality and technical viability of models.
  • Ability to effectively translate ideas, suggestions, and questions to team members.
  • Digital sculpting experience with Maya and Z-Brush.
  • Production experience in a modern ray-tracing or path-tracing rendering software (e.g., RenderMan or Arnold).
  • Degree in Computer Animation or a relevant course.
  • Knowledge of related software, such as Marvelous Designer.
