About the role
Role Overview
We're hiring a MetaHuman Character Artist to build the cast of Tears of Libya, a narrative game in Unreal Engine 5 set in Libya during the Second World War.
You'll create characters end to end: faces, hair, clothing and accessories, all running on MetaHuman.
What You'll Do
- Design main and supporting characters with the director, from reference boards and sketches through to in-engine MetaHumans.
- Build and customize MetaHuman faces and bodies in MetaHuman Creator and Mesh to MetaHuman, pushing past the default presets toward distinct, believable people.
- Create custom clothing and costumes that fit MetaHuman bodies and hold up in close-ups: modeled, UV'd, textured and rigged or simulated so they move correctly.
- Make accessories and props worn by characters (headwear, jewelry, bags, footwear, weapons where the story calls for them), attached and skinned properly.
- Groom hair, facial hair, eyebrows and eyelashes using Unreal's groom system, with card-based LODs for performance.
Compensation and Perks
- Compensation: $1600 per character.
- Opportunity: Opportunity to join the team full time if things go well.
Company Information
Voices of the Forgotten was founded by video game director Luc Bernard with a single conviction: that the immersive power of games could make people feel the weight of history in ways that linger long after the screen goes dark.
That conviction became The Light in the Darkness, the first video game ever made about the Holocaust. With over two million completions worldwide, it proved that interactive storytelling could reach a generation that traditional education was losing.
