Position Details

Title: Manager, Emerging Talent, DNEG Animation, India
Location: India (Mumbai or Bangalore)
Level: Manager (M06)
Reports to: Senior Director of Training & Development

Position Purpose and Objectives

The Manager of Emerging Talent is a pivotal leadership role responsible for architecting and executing the strategic new talent pipeline for DNEG Animation in India. This role secures the future workforce by managing initiatives from initial school and university outreach through emerging talent programs like Greenlight (extensive training for freshers) and in-studio initiatives such as internships. The role involves collaboration with the Senior Director of Training and Development, DNEG Animation leadership, Heads of Department (HODs), and the wider DNEG HR and training teams to identify strategic areas of concern and growth, translating these into high-impact, strategic development initiatives. The position requires strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to facilitate high-level training sessions both via Zoom and in person.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and build relationships with academies in India to create a talent pipeline for Greenlight training programs and various departments.
  • Lead and manage outreach and India crew training projects, such as Greenlight and Top Gun (elite training for experienced animators), to identify and bring on emerging talent.
  • Lead the development and execution of training programs, ensuring success from the sourcing of talent through the entry of the trainees into their respective departments.
  • Work in tandem with the Head of Outreach in the west to implement an ambassador program for India.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Heads of Department (HODs), Resource Management, Talent Acquisition, and leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in the VFX or Feature Animation industry working in large studios.
  • Extensive experience working within training and an in-depth understanding of how the Animation and VFX industry works.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with GSuite: Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slides.
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken) as well as research and project management skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in event management.
