Founded in 2002, the studio has established itself in the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. As one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry, the company continues to expand its expertise and push the boundaries of game development.

- Gears of War: E-Day (in collaboration with Microsoft)
- Project Echo (for KRAFTON)
- Lost Rift (original IP developed in-house)
- Exploration of VR and other unannounced projects
Role Overview
- Position: Senior Level Artist
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Project: Florence
- Location: Canada (Remote/Hybrid)
- Main Goal: Effectively produce playable levels based on the Art Director's vision and Level Design needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Artistic Direction and Quality:
- Produce playable levels based on Art Director vision and Level Design requirements with lead cooperation.
- Create world geometry and level composition within Unreal Engine.
- Redesign existing elements into new forms.
- Block out modules and levels, creating proxy assets and materials.
- Production/Deadlines:
- Produce work within specifications and maintain workflow pipelines within given deadlines.
- Feedback:
- Model proxy assets.
- Participate in reviews, adapt to, and implement feedback from leads and peers in a professional manner.
- Collaboration/Communication:
- Participate in R&D initiatives to explore new techniques and implement improvements to pipelines and workflows.
- Collaborate with Concept Art, Character Art, Environment Art, Tech Art, Level Design, and Animation departments.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Qualifications:
- Strong portfolio showcasing playable levels with created geometry.
- Experience and knowledge of industry-standard software packages for 3D modeling (Maya, Max, Blender, ZBrush, Photoshop, or equivalents).
- Ability to artistically interpret concepts or creatively push beyond initial ideation.
- Demonstration of narrative set dressing.
- Solid understanding of traditional art skills and foundational design competencies (basics of composition and layout, shape, form, texture, value, and color).
- Experience working with Unreal Engine (or equivalent).
- Full understanding of modular workflows.
- Ability to use PBR shaders and normal maps.
- Adaptive mindset.
- Ability to receive and implement feedback.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new styles, techniques, and workflows.
- Ability to collaborate with department leads and different departments to solve artistic and technical challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in AAA console/PC game development, including 1 year in Unreal Engine.
- Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Traditional art skills associated with core graphic design competencies (typography, color, and light).
- Experience working with Unreal 4/5.
- Environment modeling skills.
- Level Design experience.
