About People Can Fly

People Can Fly is a Polish AAA game developer and multi-platform publisher founded in Warsaw in 2002. The studio is known for high-energy action games, particularly first- and third-person shooters, and combines original development with co-development and production engineering for major partners.

Its early breakthrough was the 2004 gothic shooter Painkiller. The company subsequently worked with Epic Games on the PC version of Gears of War, Bulletstorm, and Gears of War: Judgment. Following a period as Epic Games Poland, the business returned to the People Can Fly name after a 2015 management buyout.

Games and partnerships

People Can Fly's credits include Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, Fortnite early co-development, and Outriders with its Worldslayer expansion. Its more recent work includes co-development of Gears of War: E-Day with The Coalition, Project Echo with Krafton, Project Florence with 2K Games, and Project Delta with Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The company also expanded its publishing activity in 2026 through the acquisition of Cooldown Games, supporting first-party and third-party multi-platform publishing.

Development capabilities

The studio develops with Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5, with capabilities spanning shooter mechanics, action-adventure gameplay, cooperative multiplayer architecture, network replication, console and PC optimisation, and custom production tooling. Its production services also cover character, environment, and technical art; motion-capture recording and data solving; animation clean-up; and full-cycle game development.

People Can Fly operates as PCF Group S.A., a publicly traded company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. After strategic project adjustments during 2024–2026, it has continued to focus on AAA co-development engagements and publishing activity.
