About the Role

This is a new role within the Immersive Studio. The Immersive Resource & Department Manager will be at the heart of the studio, ensuring teams have the necessary support to create their work. The role involves managing Realtime artists, developers, and production crew, balancing scheduling with pastoral care, and coordinating with VFX Schedulers and the UK Talent Team to integrate CG and 2D VFX artists into immersive projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the master schedule for the London Immersive department to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Partner with VFX Schedulers to integrate traditional CG and 2D artists into immersive projects as needed.
  • Anticipate project requirements and plan for specialist Immersive artists who often require longer lead times.
  • Serve as a champion for the Immersive crew by maintaining morale, fostering a calm environment, and resolving workflow issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for artists regarding career growth, training, and project allocations.
  • Conduct performance reviews alongside leadership, providing supportive and constructive feedback.
  • Welcome and onboard new crew members, guiding them through realtime pipelines.
  • Collaborate with HR on pay negotiations and ensure fair and consistent treatment of staff.
  • Manage office logistics, including seating arrangements and coordination of specialised machine rentals.
  • Maintain daily communication with line producers regarding project progress, changing priorities, and schedule updates.
  • Support the bidding process in CETA, coordinating pitches and tests.

Requirements

  • Previous experience scheduling crew and projects within a fast-paced VFX or real-time production environment.
  • Solid grasp of CG, traditional VFX pipelines, and Realtime/immersive workflows and technologies.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with producers, artists, HR, recruitment, and cross-departmental leads.
  • Strong pastoral care skills with a track record of building and managing culturally aligned teams where artists feel supported.
  • Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills for handling resource constraints or contractual matters.
  • Proficiency in, or a high capacity to quickly learn, database and scheduling software (such as CETA, Jira, or advanced Excel).
  • Meticulous attention to detail for maintaining schedules, seating layouts, and reports.
  • Responsiveness and flexibility to rapidly changing production needs under pressure.
