Role Overview

The Head of Franchise will lead the global brand extension, commercial strategy, and multi-platform expansion of the studio's IP portfolio. This role reports to the Chief Brand Officer and is responsible for turning standalone properties into enduring, highly valued media franchises across entertainment, consumer products, gaming, publishing, live events, and digital activations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-Category Licensing & Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage high-value strategic partnerships across consumer products, interactive media/gaming, location-based entertainment, and publishing.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the central hub connecting Creative, Production, Marketing, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure brand consistency and narrative cohesion across all consumer touchpoints.
  • P&L & Commercial Management: Own the franchise P&L, set global licensing targets, evaluate royalty structures, and drive revenue growth while maximizing gross margins.
  • Brand Lifecycle Management: Monitor consumer engagement, market trends, and audience analytics to continuously refresh IP relevance, manage release cadence, and expand into new demographics/territories.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in brand management, licensing, or commercial leadership within a major media, gaming, entertainment, or IP-driven organization.
  • Proven track record of scaling IP across multiple verticals (e.g., film/TV, gaming, merchandise, live experiences).
  • Deep understanding of global licensing frameworks, contract negotiations, rights management, and brand guidelines.
  • Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to bridge creative vision with commercial performance.
