Role Overview
Eyeline is a global team of risk takers, innovators and perfectionists who achieve creative visions and have fun doing it. Working in close concert with the Art Department Supervisor and the Art department Producer/ Manager, and reporting directly to the Director of the Art Department, the Concept Artist will generate pivotal design visualizations in traditional and generative art forms. We are seeking a highly proactive individual who thrives in a multi-project environment, possessing the artistic confidence to deliver visionary designs that both captivate our client partners and provide clear direction for our internal production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce sophisticated design visualizations for characters, environments, effects, and vehicles that bridge creative vision with technical VFX implementation
- Develop rapid ideation sketches to facilitate design exploration prior to the execution of high-fidelity, polished concept deliverables
- Apply a deep mastery of photographic aesthetics and principles to achieve hyper-realistic output as necessitated by project requirements
- Articulate and synthesize complex creative ideas with precision when engaging with clients, art directors, and internal supervisory teams
- Synthesize curated references and tangential design influences to provide substantial context and inspiration for all artistic workflows
- Utilize digital paint-over techniques on existing assets and look-development models to guide structural refinement and intricate detailing
- Generate high-impact key art that defines and communicates the overarching visual identity of a production
- Partner with production teams to architect innovative and efficient resolutions for critical creative hurdles
Qualifications
- Proven production based experience as a Concept Artist or other closely related experience inside the creative digital industry (film, games, VFX etc.)
- Diverse portfolio showcasing your range of skills
- Expert knowledge of traditional art techniques including drawing, painting, proportion, anatomy, composition, and perspective
- Exceptional Photoshop skills (required)
- Working knowledge of 3D software. Quick modeling skills for concept eg. sculpting and kit-bashing (suggested)
- Experience in Digital Matte Painting & projection is a plus
- Experience in compositing or Motion Graphic Design is a plus
- Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong problem solving skills
- Understanding and working knowledge to leverage GenAI workflows
