Job Description

We are currently looking for an Online Compositor to join our talented team here at our Dublin Studio. The successful candidate will support the production of high-quality children’s animation through compositing, VFX, clean-up, rotoscoping, paint work and other techniques towards the end of our post-production pipeline. These tasks will be completed using Unreal Engine, DaVinci Resolve / Fusion and Nuke and the primary deliverables are finished, High-Quality shots to be used in the Finishing Edit.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality compositing, FX, paint & clean-up, and intermediate colour grading at Online stage using appropriate software, including Nuke, Unreal Engine, DaVinci Resolve/Fusion and Photoshop.
  • Work as part of the Post Production team, primarily with the Post Production Supervisor, who will coordinate tasks and source required materials, and the Finishing Editor, to whom you will deliver completed work.
  • Work closely with Series Directors and Art Directors to interpret and implement creative notes, ensuring their vision is met to a high creative and technical standard.
  • Attend Finishing Edit viewing sessions with Directors and Art Directors, responding to additional notes and last-minute changes ahead of Master delivery.
  • Deliver work and exports to the required broadcast specifications, maintaining organised, consistent and efficient Online workflows.
  • Manage projects, assets and templates in line with BBF Online Department standards, including ongoing backup and archiving.
  • Work proactively on upcoming episodes to help manage future workload and deadlines.
  • Provide guidance to the wider Post Production team on Online and compositing issues, and keep up to date with emerging broadcast technologies, workflows and file formats.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Finishing Compositor, Finishing Editor, Post Production Supervisor and wider Post team to ensure episodes are delivered on time and to the highest standard.

Key Requirements

Knowledge

  • Skilled in online finishing, grading compositing, effects.
  • Knowledge of video technology, delivery specs and file formats.
  • Ability to manage attended viewings.
  • An understanding of online finishing & overall post workflows.
  • Ability to work efficiently, energetically and independently.

Experience

  • Experience in online, grading, compositing experience in episodic television and/or 3D animated productions.
  • Track record of working effectively with all levels of production crew, artistic staff and management.

Technical Skills

  • An intermediate (or higher) standard of understanding in some or all of the following software platforms will be assumed: Unreal Engine (Ver. 5.2+) (1 years' experience minimum required); The Foundry’s Nuke (Ver.12+) & DaVinci Resolve / Fusion.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk Flame would be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
