The EA SPORTS ART team is a global community of content creators covering Characters, Environments, Lighting, Project Management, Technical Art, and Visual Effects. The team pushes visual boundaries to create leading-edge content for a broad portfolio of sports titles.


Your Responsibilities

  • Create the cast of characters that populate the game universe.
  • Act as a dynamic and efficient modeler with sculpting and texturing skills.
  • Create character models based on scan data, photo references, or traditional 3D means.
  • Enrich the player experience with a cast of characters and a variety of character accessories, such as full-body outfits, hair, and headgear.
  • Report to the project Development Manager or Development Director.

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry character creation production experience.
  • Experience in high-fidelity 3D modeling and sculpting techniques, along with high-poly to low-poly surface/detail baking.
  • Experience in Maya, Z-Brush, and Photoshop.
  • Experience with physical materials and how to replicate them in CG.
  • Knowledge of PBR texture and material workflows.
  • Ability to author photo-realistic textures (Substance Painter/Designer experience is a plus).
  • Experience working with content-driven game engines (e.g., Unreal, Frostbite, Unity).
  • Ability to visualize in three dimensions and work from limited reference material or concept art.
  • Experience creating game resolution topology with considerations for deformation and rigging.
  • Knowledge of the creation of cloth and clothing and how to match character style.
  • Expert-level skills in high-fidelity 3D modeling and sculpting techniques, including high-poly to low-poly surface/detail baking.
  • Proficiency in UV layout and ability to edit for highest visual payoff.

Portfolio Requirements

  • Photo-real character modeling and texturing, including hair, clothing, anatomy, and likeness.
  • Display of UV layout and all maps.
  • Concept-to-model experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $77,700 - $107,900 CAD (British Columbia)
  • Benefits (Canada):
    • Vacation: 3 weeks per year to start
