Animator, 3D
Role Purpose
Bring characters to life for feature animation projects by using storyboards, animatics, and visual references. Collaborate with the Director, Animation Director, Animation Supervisor, and the team to complete shots in accordance with the story. Utilize a strong understanding of anatomy, movement, and performance to communicate ideas that resonate with audiences and evoke genuine emotional responses.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of Maya.
- Proven experience within an animation department (feature animation preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in animation or animation development within a feature animation studio.
- Demonstrated understanding of anatomy, perspective, and composition.
- Demonstrated knowledge of timing, posing, acting, and storytelling techniques.
- Well-versed in the principles of animation.
Additional Skills
- Strong drawing skills (an asset).
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Highly motivated.
- Adaptable.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to receive and apply notes and direction.
Employment Terms and Conditions
- Location: Hybrid Remote, Montréal, Quebec.
- Union Status: This is a unionized position covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE. Employees are required to join the union and pay union dues once the collective agreement is in place.
