Role Summary
The Senior 3D Animator is responsible for bringing life to the characters of the project, with an emphasis on enhancing the story and audience connection with the characters and narrative. Responsibilities include maintaining the creative and technical requirements for animation as required by the Animation Director and adhering to the production and shot schedule provided by the Production Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Create animated sequences of characters, objects, and cameras.
- Collaborate with the animation team to achieve the Executive Producer's vision.
- Perform keyframe animation with strong fundamentals such as posing, timing, and pacing.
- Rough out animation blocking for review, then revise and polish to completion.
- Apply feedback from the director and lead animator to shots accordingly.
- Take and successfully interpret a verbal or visual creative brief.
- Maintain a consistent professional standard while working independently or under direct supervision.
- Participate in fast problem solving and implementation of solutions.
- Maintain flexibility and responsiveness to change.
- Meet deadlines consistently.
- Communicate effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 6+ years of production experience in 3D animated films and/or animated episodic projects.
- Software: Solid experience and understanding of Maya in a production-based environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation.
- Excellent experience with character animation, including lip sync and key posing in a CG animation environment.
- Solid knowledge of animation workflows, character rigs, and storyboard interpretation.
- Demonstrated expertise in facial performance and body mechanics.
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Work Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Spain. Candidates must be based in Spain or Europe; Spanish locals will be given priority.

Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolios showcasing mature, stylized, and anime-inspired animation (e.g., in the vein of Spiderverse, Entergalactic, Arcane, or The Witness).
- 2D animation experience.
- Some experience in Rigging.
