About Flying Bark Productions
Flying Bark Productions is an Australian full-service animation studio and production house working across premium hand-drawn 2D, 3D/CGI and hybrid animation. Founded in 1967 as Yoram Gross Film Studios, the company carries a long history in Australian screen animation, including classic properties such as Dot and the Kangaroo and Blinky Bill. It adopted the Flying Bark Productions name in 2006 and became part of Studio 100 in 2008.
The studio combines original intellectual-property development with international service production for feature films and episodic series. Its end-to-end capabilities span visual development, look development, colour scripting, storyboarding, animatics, asset creation, rigging, layout, character animation, lighting, rendering and compositing. It also supports screenwriting, concept ideation and technical direction, including render, CFX and pipeline work.
Flying Bark develops entertainment for children, families, young adults and mature audiences. Its original and co-produced work includes 100% Wolf, 100% Wolf: Legend of the Moonstone, 200% Wolf, LEGO Monkie Kid, Tales from Outer Suburbia, Blinky Bill: The Movie and The Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill. The company has also provided animation services for productions including Marvel's What If...?, Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Glitch Techs, Stranger Things: Tales From '85, Ghostbusters: Night Shift and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film.
Production approach
Flying Bark works on original productions, client commissions and cross-border co-productions, drawing on production structures in Australia, North America and Europe. Its work encompasses theatrical film, television, streaming entertainment and licensed family properties.
The company also operates After Bark, a production label focused on scripted and unscripted live-action and mature-audience projects. This broader production remit complements Flying Bark's established animation practice while retaining a focus on character-led storytelling and international production partnerships.
